Every year we divert more than 32 million pounds of food waste from area landfills. Think of it as farm to table, to compost, and back again to the farm. We combine this food waste with a portion of the more than 150,000 cubic yards of brush brought to our facilities to create 54 million pounds of compost annually. Our mission is to produce the highest quality products that our customers can depend on year after year, manufactured from waste that might otherwise be landfilled, burned, or dumped illegally.
RisingSun Solar was born 5 years ago when creator Keith Murphy decided he no longer wanted any part of the unethical sales practices he'd seen in his experience within the solar industry. He wanted to create a company where people educate the public about the truth of solar energy, its benefits, how it saves you money, and what to look out for.
Fast-forward to 2021, and Keith went from working alone in the bedroom above his sister's garage to Inc. 500's 3rd fastest-growing solar company in the country. Kansas City Business Journal has ranked RisingSun Solar as the 5th fastest-growing company in the metro two years in a row. The KC-headquartered company now operates in Houston, Dallas, St. Louis, Oklahoma City, and Wichita.
Staying local and paying honor to the city that built him is very important to Keith.
